New Feature Lets You Switch Between Multiple Accounts
Simple as it is, we’ve always loved Instagram for work and for play. And the rollout of this week’s update that allows logout-free toggling between accounts… well, that’s a lovable tweak for more than just us marketing types who manage multiple accounts. It’s also a big deal for small business folks who regularly post on their personal AND work accounts. Since we’ve coached a few clients through the steps of setting this up, we figure it would just make sense to share it here, too! Happy posting!
For starters, make sure you’ve installed the latest version of the Instagram app. That’s version 7.15 for iOS and Android. Go ahead. We’ll wait…
Now, to add an account:
Go to your Instagram profile and click the or in the top right
Scroll all the way to the bottom and click “Add Account”
Enter the username and password of the account you want to add. (You can add up to 5, but you’ll need to do so one at a time.)
Done!
To switch between accounts:
Go back to your Instagram profile page.
Tap the username at the top center of the screen. You should see all of your accounts here.
Select the one you want to use, post away!
It’s that easy! And in case you’re wondering which account you’re using, check the bottom right of the screen on your phone. It’ll show the same pic as the one that’s in your user profile. So, if you’ve ever thought it would be great to add that Instagram account for your dog, now’s the time. And now you can keep the pictures of your kid’s play separate from your business feed. But we’re pretty sure that kindergarten performance of Swan Lake is awesome in its own right. What’s not to love, right?
